Mentoring Program Planning Session Plus Delta

The following combines the Plus-Delta reflections from two project teams following similar planning sessions on two successive days. The sessions utilized the LEGO® SERIOUS PLAY® methodology to facilitate deeper thinking among the participants.

PLUS: Equal participation; Hands on visual learning; Facilitation by academic study leader; Sandwiches; Team Engagement; The methodology unifying the two parts of the brain; Metaphorical thinking; Able to track ideas; Revealed new things; Effective at showing creativity of team; Learned more about the people on the team; Breaks were well timed; New approach to work; Good timing for the stage of project as it served a team building purpose; Openness of team; Dedicating a day to workshop; Correct number of people (6); A serious collaborative effort realized in a short period of time; Fun; Good space for workshop; Table size.

DELTA: Get more out of emergence module; Have entire team part of workshop; Emphasize purpose of shared models; Force the development of both positive and negative agents; Make the process something that can be taught to the team; Ease transition into skills building part of workshop; Leave the shared/connected model behind; Have snacks.
